City Manager - City of Fort Bragg, California
The City of Fort Bragg is a vibrant coastal community in scenic Mendocino County located approximately 165 miles north of San Francisco. The City occupies 2.7 square miles with a population of approximately 7,300 and yet despite its small size it is the largest city on the coast between San Francisco and Eureka and is the service and retail hub for the entire Mendocino coast. Residents of Fort Bragg enjoy a high quality of life with safe, quiet neighborhoods, good public schools, a small hospital, plenty of open space, clean air and little traffic congestion. The new City Manager will encourage teamwork within the organization, delegate as appropriate, yet be hands-on and highly productive, and set an example for strong customer service. The City Manager will also be positive and energetic and capable of working in a collaborative fashion with staff, the Mayor and City Council, media, non-profits and the community at-large. The position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in municipal government at the City Manager, Assistant City Manager, and/or department head level, with graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in public administration or a related degree. A Master’s degree is preferred. The annual salary range is from $142,402 to $157,185 DOQE with excellent benefits.
