Director of Human Resources and Risk Management - City of Carson, California

With a culturally diverse population of nearly 100,000 residents, approximately 30,000 housing units (70% single family homes), over 2,000 new housing units being built, the potential of a large-scale public-private partnership for development of the City Hall campus, and the redevelopment of a 157-acre landfill site, the City of Carson is positioned for an exciting and prosperous future. With a stable, supportive and collaborative City Council, the City is poised to welcome and seeks a new long-term Director of Human Resources and Risk Management.  

The typical way to obtain the requisite qualifications is with a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Public Administration, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Finance or a closely related field and at least five (5) years of professional experience in Human Resources activities, preferably including at least one year in a supervisory or administrative capacity. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred. The salary range is $212,305 to $270,961 with placement based on experience and qualifications.  The City provides an excellent benefit package.
