Director of Finance - City of Pasadena, CA
The City of Pasadena is an ethnically and economically diverse and culturally rich community. Located just 10 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles, Pasadena is nationally recognized as a destination city for employment, tourism, education, living, arts & entertainment, and innovation. The City serves a residential population of approximately 140,000 and a daytime population of 250,000.
The City is seeking an innovative, public finance professional with great integrity and an attention to detail to lead the City’s Department of Finance. The Finance Department has a staff of 70 FTE and an adopted operating budget of $17 mil in FY 26. The Department delivers a full suite of services and houses the Print Shop and Graphic Arts division. The successful candidate must be a collaborative team player, with the ability to find solutions and create pathways to ensure the successful implementation and completion of projects.
Competitive candidates will offer five years of management experience in a comparably complex public agency along with a Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, finance, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. A combination of public and private sector experience is acceptable. Experience overseeing diverse municipal finance functions, developing and managing complex budgets, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and advising executive leadership on fiscal policy with be considered favorably.
The annual salary range for the Director of Finance is $225,837 - $282,296 based on the experience and qualifications of the applicant, plus a competitive benefit health and retirement package.
