The City Council is seeking a City Attorney who is a generalist practicing attorney with the ability to offer alternatives that allow City Council to meet their policy objectives in a way that protects the City from risk and reconciles the needs of City departments and individuals who may have differing interests. Requires a Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA or California State accredited school of law and eight (8) years of broad and extensive experience in all major phases of municipal law and three (3) years of responsible management and administrative experience. Active membership in the State Bar of California is required.
The annual salary for this at-will position is $285,000 - $315,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The City offers an outstanding benefits package that includes fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for the employee with significant contributions towards family premiums, and a generous paid leave program. Relocation and housing assistance may be offered at the discretion of the City Council.
