Appointed by the District’s General Manager, this position will oversee public information, media relations, community outreach, volunteer and docent programs and state and federal legislative affairs. The Public Affairs Department has a staff of seven and annual budget of $1.8 million. The Public Affairs Manager will bring a solid understanding of legislation and legislative affairs, preferably with experience working with California State legislators. The District is seeking an individual with at least five years of management experience in public affairs, community outreach, or a related area. The selected candidate will possess strong knowledge of public policy and a clear understanding of the priorities and methods for supporting a chief executive and elected body.
